This intermediate to advanced course consists of 4 hours of Qualified Business Income explaining line by line Form 8995 (Qualified Business Income Deduction Simplified Computation) and Form 8995-A (Qualified Business Income Deduction). Scenarios will be given so the attendee will learn how to determine who qualifies for the deductions. What business entity is an SSTB (Specified Service Trade or Business) will also be discussed. The remaining 2-hours will be discussing new tax forms and other changes in the tax law. This course qualifies for IRS, CTEC and NASBA hours.

His extensive experience includes developing qualifying continuing education and training programs for the California Tax Education Council and for the IRS Enrolled Agent CE program.

Roberto Pons was born in Cuba and arrived to the Unites States in 1980. After 20 years in the banking industry, and 3 year as Comptroller of a multinational company, Mr. Pons became an Enrolled Agent in 2003. Shortly thereafter, he founded Pons and Associates with the objective of helping his community’s members to solve and avoid tax problems. Mr. Pons became involved in the Florida Society of Enrolled Agents and its local chapter in Miami-Dade County. Mr. Pons had served as Treasurer, Vice President and President of his local chapter. In 2012, Mr. Pons graduated from the National Tax Practice Institute and became a Fellow. He has taught classes for the Special Enrollment Examination at Miami Dade Community College South Campus, as well as several seminars to Enrolled Agents and for the public at large.
