This intermediate course covers the IRS mandate on protecting yourself and your clients. Criminals have learned that tax return preparers have a lot of information about their customers, including Social Security numbers, information about families, and employment history. Criminals want to pilfer this information to steal money from banks, the IRS, or conduct other types of cybercrimes.
At the end of this course, the student will be able to do the following:
- Understand the importance of safeguarding the taxpayer’s documents.
- Recognize the importance of a strong password.
- Know how to develop a security plan for their needs.
