Trip to the first ATAX and Loyalty Brands conference

On October 23rd Alberto Contreras and Niki Young from Latino Tax Pro (LTP) landed in Norfolk Virginia, got their bags and called an UBER to drive them to the first ATAX and Loyalty Brands conference. Alberto and Niki were greeted at the hotel lobby by yearlong colleagues, friends, and clients.

After the initial meet and greet we all rode on a double-decker bus to the Admirals' hockey game. The first thing everyone noticed was that it was 2-dollar beer night. After one of those cheap beers, everyone was herded towards the arena. To everyone’s surprise, the entire arena was branded with the Loyalty Brands logo, John Hewitt CEO of Loyalty brands owns the Admirals' hockey team. After a ringside hockey game, everyone got back on the bus and went back to the hotel.

After a nice breakfast, the LTP team headed over to the conference center and started looking for their booth. To their surprise, they were next to Majeed from Textellent. Exhibiting was great, “we were able to talk to past clients, meet the new franchisees, talk to other exhibitors, and build relationships with the ATAX and Loyalty executive team.” – Alberto Contreras. Many ATAX instructors came by the booth and shared their experiences in their tax training classes. They were excited to meet Niki because they recognized his voice from the videos included in the LTP online courses. Niki then taught “Schedule C vs 1120S” to an engaged crowd. Alberto was able to sit in on John Hewitt’s presentation where Hewitt was taking questions and comments and how to improve the ATAX brand.

After a full day of exhibiting ATAX had a networking night with h'ordeuvres and drinks. The night started off great, a lot of great connections were made, and everyone seemed motivated for tax season. Once New York New York started playing, the ATAX CEO Rafael Alvarez beelined it to the DJ, requested the microphone and karaoke night began. The LTP team wants to thank ATAX and Loyalty Brands for giving them the opportunity to raffle some Latino Tax Fest tickets.
After a great few awesome days in Virginia Beach, Alberto Contreras packed his bags and headed to New Jersey for one of the Latino Tax Pro regional seminars.
