Description

This intermediate continuing education course provides an overview of taxable and nontaxable income, business income, depreciation, refundable and nonrefundable credits, and a working understanding of filing status and exemptions. It covers adjustments to income and the difference between the standard and itemized deductions. Designed for learners who need 10 hours Federal Tax Law, 3 hours Federal Tax Updates, and 2 hours Behavioral Ethics. This course does not qualify for California CE hours.

  • Explain what a sole proprietor is
  • Recall the different types of partnerships
  • Identify where to report wages and other compensation
  • Differentiate between earned and unearned income
  • Identify differences among accounting periods and methods
  • Explain which deductions are limited to the 7.5% floor
